Mrs. Yamanaka

When I think back to when I was younger, teaching was something that always interested me. My mom was also an elementary school teacher and taught many years in Los Angeles Unified.  I can recall seeing her prepare for the upcoming year and correcting papers at home. I even had several opportunities to visit her classroom.

Fast forward and here I am!  After doing my undergraduate work at the University of the Pacific and the University of Oregon, I continued my studies and earned my degree from Portland State University.  From there I moved to San Jose, California where I taught 3rd grade, a 3rd/4th multi age, and 4th grade.  After that, I began teaching in Oregon at the old brick Tualatin Elementary.  While at Tualatin Elementary, I have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, and a 4th/5th blend.  I have over 20 years of experience and still continue to love working with children!
